Individuals
Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy is first about discovering; it's about who you are and about your deepest attitudes. From discovery comes knowledge which in turn provides wisdom for change.
Slowing Down and Noticing
Rather than analysing or fixing, we slow down, using mindful attention, to pay attention to what is already present.
We are wanting to notice what is happening now, naturally and organically.
This is the material we are interested in - we want to pay attention to what is, and to see what that may have to tell us about your experience, without judging and with curiosity.
We Work Together
Together we notice thoughts, emotions, sensations, impulses, tension, memories, and we invite mindful awareness to these, so that we can observe whats present, and then study the information that they may have to offer us.
Linking Body and Mind, Heart and Soul
Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy puts the body at the centre of the process, because one of the most important journeys we will ever take, is the one where we link heart and mind, body and soul.
The Hakomi Principles
The Hakomi principles of Mindfulness, Unity, Organicity, Unity and Mind-Body Holism ensure that a Hakomi session is holistic and works with the whole person, not just the mind.
The principles ensure that the work is collaborative, goes at your pace, and is respectful.
